Good morning from New Orleans.
The plan:
Walk a few blocks
Pickup at 8:30am(or there about) by New Orleans Tours (The actual pickup time turned out to be more like 9am.)
Arrive at Jean Lafitte Swamp Tour in time for the 10am swamp tour
Take a lot of pictures
Have an amazingly good time.

Road trips like this require a lot of flexibility. Sometimes (often) things don’t go as planned. Occasionally I just have a bad experience. Yesterday, my self-importance was pricked by someone who I perceived as not showing me proper respect. They were flat out rude and obnoxious. I lost my joy, creative energy, and love. After a lot of thought, I finally got over it this morning when I brought my focus back to NOW.
During the swamp tour we floated past this rustic cabin which was used in several movies.
I saw, photographed, and held alligators. Watch for a future blog with more pictures from the tour.
After riding the bus back to the French Quarter we ate lunch at the Original Old Coffeepot restaurant. I had breakfast for lunch, an omelet.
A stop at a voodoo shop for Christy was followed by a stop at the grocery and a walk back to 905 Royal Hotel.

Isn’t it annoying how one rude individual can take all the joy out of a time when you should be able to relax and enjoy your surroundings. I’m glad you were able to shake the negative energy off. Enjoy your tour today!

Thanks, me too. I try not to let negative people get to me and I learn more about myself each time I have an encounter like this one where they bring me down.

We all have those things happen and it’s good when we can move past it quickly and NOT let that person be in control of how we feel, what we do, etc. 🙂
I always think that maybe they are having a bad day and so I try to “kill” them with kindness. But, sometimes the person is just a cranky-ass ass! 😀 HA! 😀

This guy was just a cranky-ass ass. I was kind to him during the entire encounter. You’re right, we are always going to encounter people like that.

loving that pic of the mama one with the baby one. i loved those quiet bonding moments, whether breast or bottle. how they would settle into you, like you were heaven. which of course is, in the Now, as you so rightly point out. or perhaps as that sad man pointed out. Peace.

Rude negative people tend to suck up our joy for a while but we always know how to gather it back, and get on with a wonderful adventure called life.
