Christy, Jesse, and I went to the Audubon Zoo while we were in New Orleans. We love it and it is a stop we make on almost every trip.
Flamingos are graceful and beautiful. I enjoy watching them.
I think this is a Sun Bear. He looked deceptively friendly as he posed for everyone. Check out those claws. WOW!
I like tortoises. They look look old and wise. Several have lived with me for short periods of time.
Quack! Quack!
This looks like a lemur to me. They were enjoying a little snack.

Great shots of a good time. I haven’t been to a zoo in so long; I think the last trip was about 10 years ago.

Is anything cuter than a baby duck? I like zoos that obviously take good care of their animals. They have company, get fed, housed, kept clean…seems better than trying to survive in the wild!

i don’t know, people. a cage is still a cage, even if the bars are cushioned. or so says my rebel heart. which has broken itself on a cage or two, and maybe lost too much, in that doing. sorry. story for another day. meanwhile, as you know, good sir, i love your excursions with your beloveds.
