I had a dam adventure trying to photograph birds.
This sod truck had managed to get stuck.
Lack of experience?
Stupidity?
Someone held a gun to his head?
It blocked traffic for thirty minutes.
Look at me! Look at me!
Flap! Flap!
I had a good dam time.
Hope you did too.

Those are some neat birds, too — flap, flap, flap!

Thank you. They can’t match your nesting birds though.

Aww –thanks! The nesting birds take LOTS of time and patience — it’s neat to see a GBH standing still by the water long enough to photograph it!

I am sure they do take a lot of patience. Birds usually are shy about letting people see where their nest is located.
Where I took these pictures usually has hundreds of GBH, egrets, and other water fowl hanging around eating. Not many ducks usually. The GBH and egrets see so many fishermen in this location that they aren’t as afraid as they are in other spots.

I first read your posts in my email — photos don’t show, just your words, and I like that. I get an idea of what your photos will be, and your words and photos are always so intriguing I play a momentary game of “what will the image look like” before clicking over. I’m always delightfully surprised.
Have to admit to thinking you’d misspelled “dam” … darn it, I was wrong. 🙂
Love the turtle sunning himself! So relaxing.
