November 10, 2014 I became the proud owner of a 1999 Fleetwood Discovery. It is a 34′ diesel pusher.
I take possession of it the week of Thanksgiving. I’m excited and afraid.
In one of her recent posts my dear friend Christy at The Blended Path Blog challenged her readers to write down a list of fears they might have about moving forward. Well I can handle that.
1. The unknown
2. Facing things alone
3. Mechanical problems
4. This is all a huge mistake
5. Leaving the people I love
6. Hurting the people I love
7. The logistics of bill paying, mail, dentists, doctors, prescriptions, tags, licenses,….
8. Money
9. Accidents
10. Being lonely
I think “the unknown” sums it up perfectly.
She also says, “as you breathe through that list, let each one go with a purposeful releasing breath. Know that you are safe, you are worthy, and you are loved. You do not always have to feel those things for them to be true.”
I’m going to give that a try. I can do it. I’m powered by excitement.

It’s finally happening! I’d be looking forward to the unknown — the people you’ll meet along the way, the sights you’ll see, the exploration of all the places you’ve wanted to see, and so on. How very exciting for you!

It’s one of those exciting and scary things, just like most big adventures. hugs

Congratulations to you on getting this RV. Being afraid of the “unknown” is in everybody I think. Specially when you invest on something like this. I remember my daughter going through that, when she first brought the house and then the vehicle. She loves the house, but she has been having a lot of problems with the vehicle.

You are so right. The fear of the unknown is with us our entire lives.

It looks like a pretty nice place from which to see the country! I’m sure you will meet lots of nice people.

wow is right. i am so excited for you. (those pop-outs are wonderful for making it feel more roomy. after a few years in mine, i tired of the ‘cigar-tube’ feeling of it.)
a favorite quote (that i thought was fritz perls, but not sure not, thanks to internet ref) is that Fear is excitement without breath.

Looks like you scored, in the traveling home department. I face the unknown, a good many days. So far, it has proven quite interesting.

It seems like a winner at a price i could afford.
Interesting sounds good to me.

This is wonderful and yes, the fear of the unknown has kept many folks where they never wanted to stay til it was to late to leave.
Good of you for starting a new adventure.

Thank you. There have been periods of time in my life when fear of the unknown has held me back. It will probably happen again. A few years ago I began a practice of actively confronting my fears. I’ve had some successes and and some loses. lol

Congrats!! That is truly very exciting. I must admit that I’m slightly jealous… of the excitement, the fear, the anxiety, the change… all of it! š
