Busy day:
Made breakfast
I finally cooked a biscuit correctly in the convention oven. Go Me!
Checked mail
Forwarded mail
Closed PO box
Took care of prescriptions
Changed some more addresses
Put gas in the jeep
Paid mortgage
Humus and pita bread for lunch
Checked on adapter plug for the towing lights
I need to buy a seven blade to four pin adapter.
Waiting on an RV guy to stop by and then its off to the ranger station in Talladega for a senior pass. That will save money at many federal camping areas.
Then I’m meeting a friend for a beer at Dega Brewhouse.
I’m expecting a package containing: a 25′ water hose, a pressure regulator, Next Exit book, and a spiral bound road atlas.
See what else I’m doing:

Wow, that’s certainly a days work. You should look into getting a Tom Tom. I’m dearly in love with mine.

What is a Tom Tom?

It’s the best driving GPS I have found. You’re all techy, you’d love it.
Jan 17, 2015 @ 12:39:49
I will look into it. I need a GPS. It’s on my list.

Ours has held up really well to rough treatment too. I still keep my atlas in the trunk but haven’t needed it in a very long time.

Awesome

Awesome! I’m not sure of the details, but it is also possible to volunteer for a period of time at state parks (different jobs), and it allows you to camp free at other parks…again, I don’t recall the exact details, but ask about it if you are interested! Hugs
Jan 17, 2015 @ 12:36:31
I will ask. Thank you for the tip.

There’s also a Senior pass to National Parks — one entry fee covers all NP’s for the rest of your life. A good investment.
Jan 17, 2015 @ 12:36:50
I like that.
Jan 16, 2015 @ 23:08:03
Sounds like a plan and an adventure in the making.
Jan 16, 2015 @ 23:19:17
The journey of preparation is as interesting as the actual road.
Jan 17, 2015 @ 12:37:37
Oh yes. It has been and continues to be a learning experience.

the bruin one is right. the kim one might be talking about ‘workamping’ (seasonal) where one works for the rv campground and is compensated with the site.
Jan 17, 2015 @ 12:38:41
It probably is work camping.
Jan 17, 2015 @ 12:39:02
Autocorrect just can’t stand workamping. lol

Here is the link with info…this one is for Florida, but other state parks may have similar programs.

Life is ‘full tilt boogie’ right now. Drive away is Wednesday if I can wrap up some details.
