Rural camping at DeSoto Caverns is really different than urban camping at Jude Travel Park.
The full moon winked in and out between the clouds.
Darkness replaced the daylight brightness of street lights.
At night the croaking of frogs replaced racing motorcycles and the banging of trains in the switching yard. During the day the sounds of twittering birds and laughing children replaced traffic and sirens.
Better? Just not the same.
See what else I’m doing.

Sounds like a delightful change of venue. That last shot is my fave. Lovely and kinda spooky.

Those greenish shots are my favs too. It’s a combination of algae and the color light from the park lights.

It’s a really cool combo.

Laughing children trump sirens, any day. N’Awlins is lots of fun, though.

It’s my favorite city. I’ll be back this year.

We have a place named DeSoto Caverns where I live as well, but I think it may be different, that’s not Alabama I don’t think.. Anyway, I live in the woods..literally surrounded by trees it is quite peaceful. I prefer the sounds of frogs lamenting in the night, over the sound of a train any day! Beautiful pictures. 🙂

I’m at the DeSoto Caverns Family Fun Park just outside Childersburg AL.
I prefer living in the country too. I don’t mind visiting cities though.

I would love to visit a city, I just feel like somewhere like New York City is just no place for a small town gal. Though I would love to see it, I am not sure I would survive it lol. 🙂

You would survive. It would be good for you. Traveling changes things.

So I have heard. A family member is a missionary that goes to Africa, and they stay there for years at a time. They have learned to appreciate the small things in this world, clean water for instance. I feel like if I were to travel, I would choose somewhere like Ireland. Experience a city and cultural differences all at once, hahaha :).

Living in an RV is teaching me the value of the small things.
I love experiencing cities. Next up: Knoxville, Nashville, and Memphis.

Thank you. It looks a lot more creepy than it is.

I like this place and after dark it feels like the way things were in small towns before life got so filled with the bad stuff.
Apr 09, 2015 @ 02:04:10
Really like the pictures. Looks like a neat place 🙂
