I walked past around 10am and this man was sleeping here. There were construction workers around the area. The yellow tape is marking the construction zone.
About 1pm I walked back past this same spot. The man in the sleeping bag hasn’t moved. I asked one of the workers if the man was dead. The worker shrugged and said “who cares”. #mylife #NOLA_Project #street #iphone7_plus #homeless #urban

I figure fate can touch anyone this way, and when I lived in a community with a lot of them, I gave them noodles and soda. I will NOT, however, ever approach one outside of my car or at night. One guy chased me and tried to inject me with drugs.

I understand. After years of coming to New Orleans and taking candid photos of the homeless, I’ve learned they are very unpredictable.

New Orleans is a fun. I love coming here to take photos every year.
There are lots of homeless here like in most most larger cities.
I was surprised by his indifference too.

Awwww, poor fella, Sighhhh, You know me, I’d have to go check on him. Was he still there the next time you went by?

I didn’t go by again until several days later.

You should have checked on him. Poor guy to have to sleep in a place like that anyway!

You’re probably right.
