Scene 1:
There are people who want to keep you in the cage they built for you. It’s the cage that lets them control you and be comfortable. Never let someone mash you down and put you in their imaginary cage. It doesn’t exist. Stand in your power! The other will adapt, grow or flee. You are not responsible for their issues.
Scene 2:
When my ex left me and the kids almost 20 years ago she crushed my soul and took my ability to trust women with her. I’ve worked for years trying to grow past this issue.
Scene 3:
I love this quote from Pema Chödrön.
“To live fully is to be always in no-man’s-land, to experience each moment as completely new and fresh.
To live is to be willing to die over and over again.”
“The wisdom of uncertainty frees us”

That’s a great quote! Try #2 from the perspective of #1 — you are not responsible for the issues of the other!
