QOTD: “The great lessons from the true mystics, from the Zen monks, is that the sacred is in the ordinary, that it is to be found in one’s daily life, in one’s neighbors, friends, and family, in one’s back yard, and that travel may be a flight from confronting the sacred. To be looking everywhere for miracles is a sure sign of ignorance that everything is miraculous. ~ Abraham H. Maslow, Religions, Values, and Peak Experiences

That quotation is right on and those are amazing rocks. I don’t know when I realized that I have nowhere to go. Everything is here in a scale no grand painting will even gesture toward. Last year I saw several new creatures I wouldn’t have noticed if I hadn’t accepted the gift of place and taken the time — had the time — to look. May flies and a tiger salamander.

I love May flies. There should be a huge hatching here this year.
It’s nice in the sacred circle isn’t it.
Like Buffy said, “Magic is afoot.”

Yes. There’s no better place to be and magic is always afoot. ❤

The redder rocks are iron bearing and they are embedded in gray clay.
I’m kinda of Ralph’s Traveling Salvation Show rolling around in sacred space.
