I saw these lovely flowers down by Big Escambia Creek while I was meditating on the shore. They were tiny. This is a macro shot. This is the laundry area and one of the three bathhouses. It’s lovely here.

Previously I posted some pictures of Big Escambia Creek flooding. Here is a comparison.
Top: flooded Bottom: Water receded It was a beautiful day. This tiny blooms were the icing on the cake. I think they are huckleberry blossoms.I discovered this growing down by the water. This is my front yard a little before sunset.

QOTD: “The essence of wabi-sabi is that true beauty, whether it comes from an object, architecture, or visual art, doesn’t reveal itself until the winds of time have had their say. Beauty is in the cracks, the worn spots, and the imperfect lines.” —Todd Dominey

To mask or not to mask? As for me, myself, and I, we will wear a mask when around people. I live in a extremely high risk area.
I went to Hayneville today for supplies. When I was there a couple of weeks ago only a few people wore mask. Today almost everyone I saw was a wearing and mask and social distancing. The three people not wearing masks really stood out. I felt safer there than anywhere else I have gone other than the west coast where everyone was wearing masks.

“If you died today but was allowed to return to give your own eulogy what would you say?” – Mike Shaw
Here is my version of my eulogy.
JR Cline was born, lived a long life and died. Like the JR Clines before him, he chose to incarnate on this plane knowing it was a round trip ticket.
He is survived by his sons, daughters, and grandchildren.
He was kind, generous and loving. He will be missed by a few. Some lives will be change at his passing. He hoped he changed lives for the better.
He wanted a few things which he pursued and mostly accomplished: mini-farm, raising parrots, a career he loved, living in a bus, having and raising children, traveling, photography, making and selling various crafts, he had 3 successful small businesses, he loved and was. loved, he helped others create better lives for themselves, he practiced mindfulness. All around his life was successful and complete. Surveying the last 70 years he did ok. Others may disagree.
He hoped his life would make an interesting story.
QOTD: “Clarissa Pinkola Estés suggests that we all need to periodically go cheerfully and enthusiastically out of our minds.
Make sure, she says, that at least one part of you always remains untamed, uncategorizable, and unsubjugated by routine. Be adamant in your determination to stay intimately connected to all that’s inexplicable and mysterious about your life. Don’t let it degenerate into careless disorder.”

Living full time in my rv is an ongoing adventure in down sizing. There is a limited amount of storage space and rig weight is an important safety issue. If I stay parked a month or more it seems things start to accumulate.
Down sizing? Here are a few questions to ask.
1. Does it add value that I can identify?
2. Am I keeping this just-in-case something occurs? Is this a duplicate? Duplicates are often the “just in case” option.
3. Is it digital clutter? I steady have to manage digital clutter.
4. Are these photos and papers really important? Are they still important if they once were important? I no longer print photos and I regularly toss out papers.
5. Is this trash? Is it damaged? The seemingly never ending flow of trash requires attention from the source to the home. I try to select less trash at the store. I feel the need to reduce the incoming flow.
6. If it no longer fits it needs to go.
7. Is this for an abandoned hobby or past phase?Recently I tried to toss my small collection of leather pieces. I just couldn’t do it this time. It’s a past phase. I have some jewelry making supplies that need to go too.
8. Has this items useful life expired? I’ve been culling my clothes. Some are showing their age: really faded or tattered or maybe holes in them.
9. Does this make me feel worse?
Some things are conflicted. Tools and coats are “just in case” items but still add value. More than one shirt is helpful. Spare batteries. Necessary.
QOTD: Want to communicate with trees? “Slow your whole body and elongate it into tree-time. Go … like a child, playful and with reverence. Pay exquisite attention to every nuance of the entire scene with all your senses wide open.” —Written by Red K Elders,

I’m not sure about my project this year. I have a lot of questions I’m working out. I think it’s a photo book project. The first phase is collecting photos from my stay at Magnolia Branch Wildlife Reserve.
Here are a few from the flooding February 4th.
The road was flooded for a quarter mile or so. It was more than a foot deep around the curve. I didn’t take a picture there because I did not want to stop. I think I was off the road several times. Water leaked into the jeep. You can just see the yellow rails of the platform above the water at the bottom of the staircase. Normally that platform is 10 feet above the water. The day before I walked past that green sign 50’ or more down to the Big Escambia Creek. Not this day. The big, wide beach eroded and was still partially under water. I didn’t go there while it was mostly under water.
QOTD: “To achieve what the Zen Buddhists call “beginner’s mind,” you dispense with all preconceptions and enter each situation as if seeing it for the first time. “In the beginner’s mind there are many possibilities,” wrote Zen teacher Shunryu Suzuki. “but in the expert’s there are few.”

February 1 I left South Montgomery and headed towards Atmore to hang out in the woods.
While getting prepped to leave, the inverter Freedom 458 had an attacked of humming. I panicked, makes several calls, messed with the inverter and then it stopped humming. My current plan is to roll to Atmore, order a replacement, have it shipped here and install it when I return to Montgomery. Keep your fingers crossed.
I bought fuel on the way. I have a 60 gallon tank.
I was running on empty. I have a nice, peaceful new yard. I’m looking forward to the campfires and bicycle riding as soon as the rain slacks up. My first visitor. I believe it is an assassin beetle.
QOTD: Many raindrops, trickles, streams, creeks, and rivers contribute to the pool of cosmic consciousness. Each tributary has its own eddies, whirlpools, stagnant backwaters, calm pools and rushing rapids. Where they converge the merging is not always easy. At times there is resistance, turbulence as each tries to have its separate way.
