These were all taken in New Orleans.

Based solely on quantity, it is pretty obvious I like black and white photos of bicycles better.

I truly appreciate you coming by for a visit. You brighten my day. Stay safe and well out there in the CCE. Much love ❤️

Scene 1:

It’s the Peeps. They are coming for me.

This unit was lurking in the pantry.

These two were hiding on the other side of mirror. They want to invade my morning coffee.

Beware, there are even Peepshows. Have they no shame? They are building nests and breeding. Check out their eggs.

Scene 2:

Follow through

(Folks say a lot of things. It’s what they do that matters.

If you tell someone you’re going to do something, do it. Maybe you get second chance if you don’t do it. Maybe not.

Patterns emerge and tell the real story.)

Or lose trust.

Scene 3:

Chao Slices

I tried Chao Slices today. I put a slice on a cold half of a Po Boy, heated it up and it was yum. It melted great and tasted good.

Viet My Market in New Orleans East

I’m at the Viet My Market shopping for kimchi ingredients and ask another customer if I’m what holding is a daikon radish.

She shrugs her shoulders and asks, in broken English, what I’m making. I say kimchi and she nods enthusiastically. And puts two in my basket. She proceeds to put a massive Napa cabbage, scallions, garlic, ginger (they are labeled pig feet), and carrots in my basket. I thank her. She motions for me to wait and scurries off and returns dropping shrimp powder with chili in my baskets. She nods that’s all the the things I need. I thank her again. She bows. I bow.
$12 and change later I drive home with a big sack of veggies.

Scene 2: At the pool

Kid A: “I can’t find my goggles. Where are my goggles?”

Kid B: “They are in my stinky butt hole.”

Kid A: “Mommy!”

Barkus

The only Mardi Gras krewe in New Orleans for the canine population. Founded in 1993, the Mystic Krewe of Barkus is a non-profit organization.  The Mystic Krewe of Barkus was envisioned and created in November 1992 at a meeting of the Margaret Orr (WDSU-TV Weather Anchor) Fan Club held at Good Friends Bar. Thomas Wood brought his dog Jo Jo McWood to the meeting, where people complained about her neurotic ways. To get back at them all, Wood decided to make Jo Jo McWood queen of her parade and captain-for-life. Thus, the Krewe of Barkus was born.” ~ Barkus.org

Scene 1 Take 3

I complain about Alabama. It is a place I enjoy being from. There are things I like about Alabama: the many beautiful lakes, the lovely country side, white sandy beaches, quaint little towns, and it’s affordable for the most part. I could list others items. But the one I really like today is that I can order my vehicle registration online and have it mailed to where I am. That is really convenient for a mobile lifestyle. Not all Alabama counties provide this service, but some do.

Scene 2 Take 2

I like Bock beer. Years ago I looked forward to PBR Bock when it came out once a year. I have not had a good Bock beer in several years. This is a “new to me” good one. #mylife #nola #beer #bockbeer #bock_beer #new_orleans #neworleans #abita #abita_brewing #nola_project #iphone7_plus

Scene 3 Take 3

Things that make me go hmmm

I was talking with a local woman at Bayou Sauvage and she told me it was a dangerous place to come alone. She was there with another person and two large bull dogs. She asked me where else I liked to visit and immediately told me it wasn’t the safest place to walk and that I should probably go somewhere else.

I took myself out for a big bowl of Pho on Valentine’s Day.

I saw the tulips at City Park in New Orleans. They are always beautiful.

I also visited The Sydney and Walda Besthoff Sculpture Garden while I was there.

There have been some wonderful 70 degree days in February.

One of my favorite activities is wandering the streets of New Orleans taking photos. Street photography is one of my passions. I’ve done that several times in February.

French Quarter street scene. Bicycles on the street in the French Quarter, New Orleans.
