I’ve been using the Osho Zen Tarot deck for a couple of years. This is the first time Flowering the Queen of Rainbows has fallen out. It’s a great card for new beginnings.

Days 50 – 56

Day 50
The view out my bedroom window
Day 51
One of my daily rituals is to draw and write in my junk journal.
Day 52
It’s been a while. Guinness has been difficult for me to obtain during the lockdown.
Day 53
I didn’t make sunrise but the water was warm and the air was cool. Mother played misty for me.
Day 54
With all the protesting and rioting going on in America it was nice to discover this heart during my walk this morning. A big “I love you” from Mother.
Day 55
Day 56

Thanks 😊 so much for stopping by and interacting. You bring joy to my heart. I love you.

1. I really enjoy a tin of sardines with a few crackers. However, if I pulled this one open I would be inclined to run away screaming.
Looks like they have had enough.

Angry Fish

2. Magna tiles are great fun. It’s so easy to build things with these unusual magnets.

Magna tile space ship.

3. I am really enjoying playing Scrabble. It provides an additional way for me to interact with others and meet new people.

4. Delicious U-Pick strawberries from Sugar Hill Farm in Verbena AL. I also got some farm fresh tender yellow zucchini and squash, and a huge head of broccoli. Total was $16. I’m a happy camper.

5. I’m starting the Plastic Challenge on June 1. Join me.

6. I like the sentiment. It’s time, past time, to rebel against the oligarchy in America.

Days 43 – 49

I used the Google Arts and Culture app to morph this photo into Keith Haring’s style.

Day 43

I am weary of Covid’s trash. I am weary of Covid in general. However, I am adapting to my new Covid Common Era life and it’s not so bad.

Day 44

Here I am in Paradise during the CCE and this holly plant thinks it is fall. Or maybe it is in harmony with the newly sick since Alabama has opened up again.

Day 45

The view out my bedroom window.

Day 46

I’m not sure what this plant is doing. Every time I bury its roots it climbs back out.

Day 47
Day 48
The neighbors
Day 49
The big heron wasn’t around. This was his fill-in.

DISCARDED BOTTLE CAPS

Rusty bottle top

While I’ve been enjoying my ice-o-lation in Paradise I have been into photographing bottle caps.

Green bottle top
Rusty bottle cap
The last one in this series. I drank this Shiner Bock and posed the cap on an old wooden picnic table.

Except for the Shiner Bock, these caps were all on the ground in Paradise. I saw them and photographed them on my morning walks. The Shiner Bock cap was disposed of appropriately.

Thanks so much for stopping by and leaving a comment.

My Memorial Day Weekend

May 23
A 4 mile walk
Worked on my art projects
Drummed and practiced ukulele
Meditation for a few hours
Made veggie food
Hung out with my friend
Journaled
Thought different thoughts as much as possible.

May 24 began with a 2 mile hike. At a distance I had a conversation with a fellow hiker. There was a lot of yelling. hahahaha She was walking a beautiful white dog.
After I returned to WHQ, I enjoyed a cup of iced coffee and a mandarin for breakfast, some journaling, and a life threatening trip to the Beeswax convenience store and grill. No masked shoppers other than me. Most people abided by the social distancing guidelines. The floor of the entire store was marked off in 6’ intervals. Sad as it is, I risked my life for a beer run.

May 25
Memorial Day
I started the day with coffee and a banana at 5 am.
Next was a 3 mile hike down by the lake.
The sunrise was lovely this morning.

Lay Lake

I encountered this turtle. I apologized for interrupting it’s journey. I like to believe that crossing paths with a turtle is a positive omen bringing happiness.

Turtle

As I continued I came upon a Killdeer nest. I am amazed at them. It surprises me that the eggs survive.

Lunch was a far cry from the standard Memorial Day BBQ with family and friends. Cabbage soup and a beer for me today. I do miss my mom’s pound cake on occasions like this.
Feeling kind of alone on this holiday. It’s because I pick it.

The dream: I dreamed I was driving and I knew something wasn’t quite right. The passenger pointed it out too. Seems the car had started slowing rising into the air. We drifted near the wall of a Walmart store and used the bricks to pull the car back down. Then we got out. Oddly adults didn’t float but the one child in the car began to drift away.

Scene 1:
I pulled the 5 of Water, Clinging to the Past, from the Osho Tarot deck. Such a great card for living in the Covid Common Era. The pre-Covid past exits only in our minds. The post-Covid future exists only in our minds. The present flits by into the past. If we stay in our minds, we will miss our lives.

Cling to the Past Tarot Card

Scene 2:
To embrace both the sorrow and joy is difficult in these times of upheaval. As warriors we feel the pain while we continue to shine the light.

QOTD: “Hold the sadness and pain of samsara in your heart and at the same time the power and vision of the Great Eastern Sun. Then the warrior can make a proper cup tea.”
-Chogyam Trungpa

Scene 3:
An RV washing man came by. We struck a deal. He is washing my RV and my jeep for $225. This includes the awnings. I’m happy. 🕺🏽 WHQ is clean.

You bring joy to my heart. Stay safe and well out there in the CCE. I love you.

Days 29 – 35

Day 29
Day 30
This two just flew right on down where I was. Do you think they were trying to tell me something? I have been dreaming about death a lot.
Day 31
Having a little fun with double exposure.
Day 32
A happy face on the windowsill was nice to see.
Day 33
I am inspired by this picture. I think it is a sign that I should become a professional strength goof off.
Day 34
The alien
Day 35
Amid all the discarded gloves and face masks, on a trail in the urban woods, I come across this.

Thank for stopping by. I appreciate all the likes and comments. Stay well in these different times.

Curbside Pickup

I’m trying curbside pickup at the local grocery store. I called yesterday to get the scoop on how small town USA curbside pickup works. I’m calling in my order, they will do the best they can, and they will call me back with the total.

The list:

  • Green bell pepper X
  • Cucumber X
  • Bag o carrots X
  • 4 Roma tomatoes X
  • 4 green bananas X
  • Bag of yellow onions X
  • Celery hearts X
  • Bag o apples X
  • 5lbs potatoes X
  • Big jar dill pickles X
  • Jif Crunchy peanut butter C
  • Canned pineapple X
  • Canned pears X
  • Raisins
  • 3 small cans tuna in water X
  • onion soup mix X
  • Bouillon cubes X
  • Bay leaves X
  • Small bags of flour and cornmeal
  • Cooking oil 32oz
  • TP X (I was surprised it was available)
  • SOLO style cups
  • Bug spray
  • Liquid dish detergent X
  • Graham crackers or saltines. X

The items with an “X” are the items that were available. The employees did a great job. It was as safe as possibly. The grand total for this adventure was $88 and change and should feed me for 2 or 3 weeks. When I got home I wiped down some things with a Lysol wipe, others got a soapy bath, and a few others were put in isolation for a week.

All loaded up
