1. The combination of Covid and the current civil unrest has hindered my lifestyle, leaving me a bit adrift in the ocean of my life. I’m ungrounded and have self work to do. My life was nomadic.

2. If I don’t move he won’t see me.

3. It’s been an entertaining few days doing “out of my routine” things and thinking new thoughts.

My Covid-19 Diary Day 2

Osho Tarot Abundace King of Rainbows

This Dionysian character is the very picture of a whole man, a “Zorba the Buddha” who can drink wine, dance on the beach and sing in the rain, and at the same time enjoy the depths of understanding and wisdom that belong to the sage. In one hand he holds a lotus, showing that he respects and contains within himself the grace of the feminine. His exposed chest (an open heart) and relaxed belly show that he is at home with his masculinity as well, utterly self-contained.

The four elements of earth, fire, water and sky all conjunct at the King of Rainbows who sits atop the book of the wisdom of life. If you are a woman, the King of Rainbows brings the support of your own male energies into your life, a union with the soul mate within. For a man, this card represents a time of breaking through the conventional male stereotypes and allowing the fullness of the whole human being to shine forth.

In the East people have condemned the body, condemned matter, called matter “illusory,” maya–it does not really exist, it only appears to exist; it is made of the same stuff as dreams are made of. They denied the world, and that is the reason for the East remaining poor, sick, in starvation.

Half of humanity has been accepting the inner world but denying the outer world. The other half of humanity has been accepting the material world and denying the inner world. Both are half, and no man who is half can be contented.

You have to be whole: rich in the body, rich in science; rich in meditation, rich in consciousness. Only a whole person is a holy person, according to me. I want Zorba and Buddha to meet together. Zorba alone is hollow. His dance has not an eternal significance, it is momentary pleasure. Soon he will be tired of it.

Unless you have inexhaustible sources, available to you from the cosmos itself…unless you become existential, you cannot become whole. This is my contribution to humanity: the whole person.

Osho Communism and Zen Fire, Zen Wind, Chapter 2

My take away: I am mindlessly shuffling this deck. My mind was evaluating my supplies. How many weeks of food were on hand? How can I stretch things? Suddenly, this card popped out. OK, message received. “…inexhaustible sources, available to you from the cosmos itself….” Thank you!

Thank you for reading, liking and commenting. I appreciate you. Stay safe and well in these adventurous days.

Since December 24th my Freedom 458 has been malfunctioning.

Today RV tech Jack stopped by and told me the Freedom 458 was broken and needed to be replaced. I ordered a new one from Xantrex for $1,070 and change. It should be here Thursday.

The Passport Application

I turned in my passport application (cation)* today. How (misbehave)* naive of me to think I would walk in, turn it in, pay money, and walk away. It was not that way at all.

Guided by the Gatekeepers instructions and (seeks no)* seeking the light of the holiday tree, I wove my way down into the bowels of the county courthouse. There stood the holiday tree in all its radiant glory. Nice Person asked, “Do you have an appointment?” My brain goes, “appointment? This requires an appointment? Huh?” My mouth says, “No, I didn’t know I needed one”. Nice Person says, “Let’s see if we can work you in today.” Off Nice Person goes deeper in the maze. After awhile and a roll of Smarties, Nice Person returns telling me I’m in luck there has been a cancellation and Passport Person can see me now.

More directions and wandering about. Oh look, It’s Passport Person’s office. Ceremonial greetings are exchanged. Palms are pressed together. Paperwork is reviewed, revised, and copied. The appropriate funds are exchanged. Pleasantries are exchanged. Advice is given. An hour passes. I bid farewell, leaving behind my identity, and like the experimental mouse I wind my way back through the maze to Gatekeeper. The Gatekeeper gives me a lighter, a laugh, a knife, and buzzes me out into the rain.

That’s my story and Maya and I are sticking to it. 😉

1.  Beaching it
I think I’ll be spending a few days looking at the beach live in Gulf Shores AL.
2.  NOLA-my heart home city
This is one of my favorite places to play.
3.  Audubon
I’ll be visiting the Audubon Zoo, Aquarium of the Americas, and Insecterium.  I guess that should count as three for a total of five.

Annual Review 2014

What went well

Scary as it was, leaving my career really brightened up my life.
The process and logistics of downsizing my possessions was difficult but it was accomplished and it was worth every bit of the effort. I never realized what a burden things could be.
Reducing my bills is mostly completed.
Selling my house. This was stressful but finally came together on Halloween.
Plumbing repairs completed.
Address changes were time consuming but easy. I think I got them all.
Purchasing the RV was easy. Taking ownership of the RV and moving into it turned into an almost two month adventure in staying with family and repairs that had to be made before I would accept delivery. I’m in it now though.

What didn’t go well and have to wait until 2015 (I guess that makes them new year goals.)

Leaving town is more difficult than I thought it would be. It’s some strange form of stuckness. It could be mental, emotional, situational, spiritual, a mixture, or something else entirely.
Of course plain logistics get in the way.
I’m still trying to get the towing package completed and trying to get a tag.
Visiting my daughter. I really wanted to take the RV up there for a month before it was cold weather. That didn’t come together.
I also wanted to be in New Orleans the last half of December. It wasn’t in the cards.
Repairing the rental property has been and is still a long, slow process. Curlee and Moe are doing a good job but they are slow. The floor is a mystery looking for the right detective. Or, it sure is hard to find someone knowledgable to fix this problem.
Applying for social security is a work in progress. It’s been frustrating so far. The government tries to make it easy, but it’s still an ordeal.

What I’ve learned

Walking by faith rather than by sight has been reinforced. It seems I forget and have to relearn that periodically.
Related to this is my mindfulness practice and remembering to live in the illusive now. That too has been reinforced.
I’ve learned I am better off with less stuff. As I emptied that big house, the empty space became creative space. As I emptied my life of the responsibility for stuff, that empty space became creative space.
I’ve been reminded of the importance of friends and family. Loving and being loved is so important. We are social animals.
My gratitude practice has really paid off in increased happiness.
I had many opportunities to practice grooving with the changes during 2014. I feel sure 2015 will be filled with change practice too.

2015 Plans

I plan to spend the first part of 2015 on the gulf coast roaming from New Orleans to Florida. When the weather warms up I’ll be back in Alabama to take care of routine doctor stuff and car tags. Then it’s up to Memphis and across to Oak Ridge. It will be fun to spend a month with my daughter. After that there are some vague notions of exploring the east coast floating around in my head.

Redoing the CrackingMyEgg site is a strong possibility. It’s a new year in a rolling home it’s seems time for a site update.

You can look forward to travel/photo blogs of my adventures. I will be devoting a lot of time to photography and hopefully blogging.

There is some talk of a video project. I’ll keep you posted.

You know plans are always subject to change.

Adventure Ahead

It’s not long now.  NOLA bound in 13 days!
Train ticket…..done!
Reservation at 905 Royal…..done!
I’ll be gone a week.  Two days travel time and the rest playing and some impromptu street photography.  w00t! w00t!
I don’t have any firm things planned.  Here is the really short list of possibilities:

Dirty Linen Night on Royal Street
This will be easy to do.  The place I am staying is located right where this festival is being held.  I can just go outside and be at the festival.  lol Easy Peasy.

Swamp Tour
There are several options for this tour.
Grayline Tours This tour begins within walking distance of the hotel.  That is a plus.  On the downside, this hour and a half tour isn’t going to get too far out into a swamp.  It may wind up being a tour of the drainage canals.
Jean Lafitte Swamp Tour This tour boat has a restroom on board.
Cajun Critters Swamp Tour
I have to make sure they can accommodate Jesse which means they probably need a restroom on the boat.  The tour boats are covered so I won’t be riding in the hot August sun.  The air boat tours I checked out didn’t take children under five.

COOLinary New Orleans is another happy coincidence.
Oh wait.  There are no coincidences.
