1. Father’s Day came and went. I didn’t take myself out for lunch at The Point Bar & Grill. I didn’t have spoons for it. Only 31% of Alabamians are fully vaccinated. A new and more contagious variant, Delta, is posed to sweep across the nation. Instead, I made loaded mash potatoes: potato, onion, butter, cheese, garlic, roasted baby carrots, plain Greek Yogurt and some turkey sausage.

2. It was a Fabulous Friday morning at the lake.
3. It was bird-ish outside this morning.
I enjoyed a very pleasant stroll to Lake Martin and back again.

I appreciate you. Yes, you! I am grateful for your visits, likes, and comments. Stay safe and warm out there in the CCE.

1. “Throw a small treasure into your holy river as an offering. Find a holy sidewalk to walk on, praise the holiness in a bus driver, kiss a holy tree, and shop at a holy store.” ~ Rob Brezsny
It’s all holy.
It’s all sacred.

2.

I found a place to get an oil change, Prattville Auto & RV. They are covered up with work. There are 9 rigs outside that I can see without getting up. The shop was full too.

3. While getting the oil change at Prattville Auto & RV, I was informed that my main drive belt is on its last legs. I think the most efficient solution is to have Down South Roadside Diesel Repair send out a tech. They charge $95 an hour. That is less than the shops I called.

I appreciate you. Thanks for stopping by and saying hello. That means a lot to me. Stay safe and well out there in the CCE.

Favorite Finds in January

1. WHQ looks a lot better without the factory window treatments. Four more to take down. I need to replace those yucky sidelights too.

2. The Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo
The Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo opened in June 1989 as Zooland Animal Park and has evolved into The Gulf Coast Zoo 2.0 with a new location and facilities. It’s a real gem.

3. Joe Biden is now President of America. I believe he will fix the mess his predecessor left.
Does not mean he wont leave his own mess.

1. Today the Blackstone 17” Griddle arrived. I am excited about this upgrade to the outside cooking trip. I need to do some minor assembly and then season the cooking surface before I can try it out.

2. I seasoned the griddle this afternoon.

It’s seasoned. Next step is cooking something.

3. A grand experience/experiment. I cooked banana bread in a slow cooker.

It came out good. I over cooked it a bit. I don’t bake so I went too long. It passed the 11 year old boy test. He ate several pieces. He suggested adding vanilla and cinnamon and using a different recipe that included butter.

Thank you for visiting my blog. . Your visits, likes, and comments are greatly appreciated . Stay safe and well out there in the CCE. Seasons greeting.

A Walk in the Woods

Jesse and I went for a walk on a dirt (sand) trail in Gulf Shores. It was a cool walk in the woods at the beginning.

The first thing we found was an abandoned shopping cart.

It had been there a while. It was held down by vines. We walked further in and came across an abandoned sofa. I took several pictures but none were recorded. I’ll return and try again.

The weirdest of all was a creepy doll.

Original position
Flipped over

Much further down the trail, we found the head.

The body and head were not chewed up. The head appeared to have been cut off. See the smilie face? Weirdness.

The sun was setting.

The next day we returned on our bicycles to get a photo of the sofa.

Thankful

I thought I would share a thankful list. I am grateful for so much.

1. I did not die a few years back when my heart decided to slow down and stop. Pacemakers, doctors, nurses, techs, hospitals, family and friends saved my life. I am living in the bonus years thanks to all this. I appreciate this time and I am trying to make the most of it.

LIVE LIKE YOU ARE DYING

2. Living the life I picked. Seven years ago I realized I did not want to die sitting in a recliner watching television. I sold, gave away, or trashed most my belongings, sold my house and moved into an RV. I am grateful for the life I have on the road. Location independence is nice.

My rolling home

3. I’m grateful for faith and confidence. The microwave/convection oven in WHQ is failing. I believe I can replace it.
Faith and confidence in a higher power supply me with faith and confidence in myself. Living alone it’s nice knowing God (pick a label you like) has my back.

4. I am grateful for friends who keep tabs on me and come for visits. Sometimes they travel with me.

5. I am thankful for the quarter I found on the ground. Quarters are important for laundry day.
I am thankful for tonight’s campfire and much other stuff.

Thank you for coming by. Your visits, likes, and comments are a delight. Stay safe and well out there in the CCE. Wishing you love and joy.
