I thought I would try a scavenger hunt from Keri Smith’s book The Pocket Scavenger. I would like to include some of these as part of #The100DayProject.

Watercolors in a little ceramic tray.

I’m still painting a little. It’s enjoyable when I’m feeling good.

Today I visited the cardiologist to check my pacemaker battery and some arterial calcification that showed up on a bone scan He said I had another year on this battery. He also said he wasn’t going to do anything about my heart unless it was a problem for me. He made it clear he wanted me to concentrate on treating Terminus rather than having a heart thing and a cancer thing going on at the same time. I appreciate that.
Waiting in the waiting area.
A cute figurine in the treatment area window. I took this with a Kodak Print-o-matic.
We arrived back at Castle Graystone and discovered this pile of pine trees. The tree guys had removed four pines that were too close to the building.

Pictures of pictures.
The second series of photos for #The100DayProject. These were taken with a Kodak Mini Shot 3 Square Retro Instant Camera.

My awesome sister. She has taken care of me since I’ve been sick. She and her husband picked me up from WHQ where I lay dying and brought me to their home and medical care.
When chemotherapy caused sores in my mouth. I was given “magic” mouthwash. It works well numbing the pain and helping to heal the sores.
Me and my shadow out for a walk. I’m slowly building up my strength by walking a little more each day.
Aren’t these lovely roses? They were part of my sister’s Valentine’s Day.

Here I am. I’ll never be cured but I have improved over the last year.

QOTD: “There are quicksands all about you, sucking at your feet,” he ruminated, “trying to suck you down into fear and self-pity and despair. That’s why you must walk so lightly. Lightly, my darling. Pictures of pictures. Here is the first series of photos for #The100DayProject. These were taken with a Kodak Mini Shot 3 Square Retro Instant Camera. Not my best work but I’m learning a lot.

A mess I’ve piled up on the piano.
We went for a delicious Mocha Frappe at Bullet Coffee Company. We sat in the car enjoying our beverages.
I use an Amazon box as a painting table. Works well, it’s ok to mess it up and I can recycle it when I am done.
A lovely pork loin for supper.

My current journey is leading me further down the rabbit hole than I have ever been before.

My project revolves around instant cameras. I want to learn how to creatively use these cameras. First I’ll take some practice photos with each camera.

The Kodak Printomatic produces business card size photos. They can be sticky on the back or not sticky. I plan to use this camera to make photos for my journal. This camera will also print photos from an iPhone.
This is the KODAK Mini Shot 3 Square Retro Instant Camera. It produces 3”x3” photos. As well as taking photos, this camera can print iPhone photos via Bluetooth.

Lastly is the largest and most complicated instant camera. It also has the most capability. It is the the Lomo’Instant Wide camera. I’m intrigued by its multi exposure option.

QOTD: “Who do you want to become between now and January 2024? Where do you want to go and what do you want to do?” ~ Rob Brezsny

I’ll go first. Who do I want to become? Nobody. I spent years becoming somebody. Now that Terminus has entered the picture I’m practicing letting go of things and roles in preparation for my departure from this spacesuit. I am not this body. Where do I want to go? San Francisco to be near my son and his family. What do I want to do? Walk 10,000 steps again.

I’m feeling good enough to start painting in my journal some.

This Amazon box makes a good painting table.

Adapting to this new normal is challenging. I’m progressing slowly. It’s not easy changing from nomadic life to this more sedentary life. I wish I could get out and do more but I’m weak. I’m working to build up strength.

I visited Devil’s Backbone again. It’s one of my favorite spots at Magnolia Branch.
There are some cool rock formations.
It’s not an easy place to walk.

QOTD: “The great lessons from the true mystics, from the Zen monks, is that the sacred is in the ordinary, that it is to be found in one’s daily life, in one’s neighbors, friends, and family, in one’s back yard, and that travel may be a flight from confronting the sacred. To be looking everywhere for miracles is a sure sign of ignorance that everything is miraculous. ~ Abraham H. Maslow, Religions, Values, and Peak Experiences
