I’m probably doing the #100DayProject this year. I have two ideas I and playing with: pictures of my everyday life or pictures/videos of acts of kindness.

The view from my front yard. This is a practice photo for the #The100DayProject.
This little heater keeps my feet warm. Another practice photo for #The100dayproject .
Sweet potatoes, straws, and clips in a basket.

1. The friend I’ve know the longest transitioned 12.6.20. 40+ years ago, we met in Balboa Park. That month on Normal St. changed the direction of my life. He was an awesome bnw photographer and taught me to create silver rings. He was an amazing man.

2. Each day is a magical portal, a gateway the Universe leaves open for us. Can you feel the infinite brimming over with possbilities? Now is the moment to fearlessly and shamelessly create your reality. Action or non-action, both create a future. Will you settle for the same old shift, or will you step into change?

3. The afternoon of January 6 was a time of much feeling. Attempted coup? Very unsettling things happened in D.C. I’d love to travel 100 years in time and read what history says about today.

Cooking banana bread in the slow cooker

4. My first slow cooker banana bread made using a yellow cake mix. This is a practice shot for #The100DayProject.

#100DayProject

I try to do this but I skipped 2020. One more go this year.

Currently I’m thinking about photos documenting my daily life. Not sure. I may practice a bit before January 31.

It’s cold today and this has been my view.

Favorite Finds in December

1. An RV Christmas Tree. It is the first one in several years. Things are different, more magical, with a child on board.

2. This is the first time since the initial lock down the first of 2020 that I have lived close enough to a store that delivers or to any delivery service to have groceries delivered. I can truthfully say that I love having groceries brought to the door. That frees up a lot of time and limits risk. I could get spoiled.

3. I’ve been baking banana bread in my slow cooker. It’s easy and works well. My technique is improving with practice.

4. A vaccine in finally available. YAY. Vaxx Now

1. I’ve enjoyed my time in Gulf Shores. We’ve been here over a month. I plan to be here until the end of January.

2. Slow cooker banana bread round 2 is much better than round one. I would have a picture but the boy was standing there with a plate and a knife. Piping hot and he was cutting off pieces. I added cinnamon to this loaf.

3. Having temporary house guests, especially in an RV, definitely requires flexibility, tolerance, thinking different thoughts, love, and patience. It’s a great way to change the pattern of my everyday life and thoughts.

1. Today the Blackstone 17” Griddle arrived. I am excited about this upgrade to the outside cooking trip. I need to do some minor assembly and then season the cooking surface before I can try it out.

2. I seasoned the griddle this afternoon.

It’s seasoned. Next step is cooking something.

3. A grand experience/experiment. I cooked banana bread in a slow cooker.

It came out good. I over cooked it a bit. I don’t bake so I went too long. It passed the 11 year old boy test. He ate several pieces. He suggested adding vanilla and cinnamon and using a different recipe that included butter.

1. Kudos to Chase Visa. December 1, I purchased $100 of fuel at Speedway. The next morning there was a email from Chase regarding a charge they denied. It was an additional $150 charge at Speedway. Thank you for saving me money Chase. They are sending out a new card.

2. The child on board brought holiday joy when he arrived. It’s been a long time. It goes with my theme during this time of Covid ice-o-lation, “think different thoughts”. I needed this booster shot of joy.

It’s been a few years since the last Christmas tree

3.

The Nativity we saw during our bicycle ride.

4. My 1SE for November. A video of snippets from my November.

A Walk in the Woods

Jesse and I went for a walk on a dirt (sand) trail in Gulf Shores. It was a cool walk in the woods at the beginning.

The first thing we found was an abandoned shopping cart.

It had been there a while. It was held down by vines. We walked further in and came across an abandoned sofa. I took several pictures but none were recorded. I’ll return and try again.

The weirdest of all was a creepy doll.

Original position
Flipped over

Much further down the trail, we found the head.

The body and head were not chewed up. The head appeared to have been cut off. See the smilie face? Weirdness.

The sun was setting.

The next day we returned on our bicycles to get a photo of the sofa.
