Personal Notes

1, I broke a tooth. The dentist appointment is at 2 pm. I suppose I should take a shower.

2. Like every night, I left my shoes outside by the door. When I went out, one shoe was gone. In the dim light, before sunrise, I looked around. I spotted a shoe like shape on the next parking pad. I walked over and it was my shoe. A few bite marks, but it was usable. The bites give it character.

This is the culprit!
The chew toy

3. The trip to the dentist : I had 3 broken teeth. It was the three breaks. Papa break, the mama break and the baby chip. An hour and a half and $135 later all were repaired successfully. I was out the door.
I was only aware of mama break. The other two were surprises.

I think I’ve discarded my irrational fear of dentistry after only 60 years of living with that fear. Becoming nobody and practicing thinking new thoughts is paying off.

QOTD: Do not let people’s opinions of you mold your destiny.
Let unhappy people have their unhappy thoughts.
Continue on your path courageously.

1. I’ve taken a new approach. When my Trump supporting friends post risky Covid ideas and cures, I heartily encourage them to do what Trump recommends.

2. Not a particular man

A man lived alone
A man walked alone
He played alone
He slept alone
Ate alone
And died

3. Every day, you have to wade through a relentless surge of soul-less facts.
The experience tends to shut down your sense of wonder.
Every day, you’re over-exposed to cynical narratives that have been sucked free of delight and mystery. That’s why you have to make such strenuous efforts to keep your world enchanted.
I like to think I can contribute to the sacred cause of feeding your sense of wonder and enchantment. ~ Rob Brezsny

Bell’s Theorem
First published Wed Jul 21, 2004; substantive revision Wed Mar 13, 2019
Bell’s Theorem is the collective name for a family of results, all of which involve the derivation, from a condition on probability distributions inspired by considerations of local causality, together with auxiliary assumptions usually thought of as mild side-assumptions, of probabilistic predictions about the results of spatially separated experiments that conflict, for appropriate choices of quantum states and experiments, with quantum mechanical predictions. These probabilistic predictions take the form of inequalities that must be satisfied by correlations derived from any theory satisfying the conditions of the proof, but which are violated, under certain circumstances, by correlations calculated from quantum mechanics. Inequalities of this type are known as Bell inequalities, or sometimes, Bell-type inequalities. Bell’s theorem shows that no theory that satisfies the conditions imposed can reproduce the probabilistic predictions of quantum mechanics under all circumstances.

The principal condition used to derive Bell inequalities is a condition that may be called Bell locality, or factorizability. It is, roughly, the condition that any correlations between distant events be explicable in local terms, as due to states of affairs at the common source of the particles upon which the experiments are performed.”

Phantasmagoria

1:  an exhibition of optical effects and illusions
2: a :  a constantly shifting complex succession of things seen or imagined
b :  a scene that constantly changes
3:  a bizarre or fantastic combination, collection, or assemblage

Sometimes, watching my Now,  life feels like optical effects and illusions, a bizarre and fantastic assemblage.  Science tells me it is an illusion. What is perceived is not the energy rushing about nor is it the mostly empty space between particles.  The very act of looking solidifies the constantly changing scene much like a photograph.

I like the fisheye lens from Olloclip.

These pictures were taken by me at the Heart of Dixie Railroad Museum with the Hipstamatic app, and the Olloclip fisheye lens on an iPhone 6.
