My Covid-19 Diary Day 2

Osho Tarot Abundace King of Rainbows

This Dionysian character is the very picture of a whole man, a “Zorba the Buddha” who can drink wine, dance on the beach and sing in the rain, and at the same time enjoy the depths of understanding and wisdom that belong to the sage. In one hand he holds a lotus, showing that he respects and contains within himself the grace of the feminine. His exposed chest (an open heart) and relaxed belly show that he is at home with his masculinity as well, utterly self-contained.

The four elements of earth, fire, water and sky all conjunct at the King of Rainbows who sits atop the book of the wisdom of life. If you are a woman, the King of Rainbows brings the support of your own male energies into your life, a union with the soul mate within. For a man, this card represents a time of breaking through the conventional male stereotypes and allowing the fullness of the whole human being to shine forth.

In the East people have condemned the body, condemned matter, called matter “illusory,” maya–it does not really exist, it only appears to exist; it is made of the same stuff as dreams are made of. They denied the world, and that is the reason for the East remaining poor, sick, in starvation.

Half of humanity has been accepting the inner world but denying the outer world. The other half of humanity has been accepting the material world and denying the inner world. Both are half, and no man who is half can be contented.

You have to be whole: rich in the body, rich in science; rich in meditation, rich in consciousness. Only a whole person is a holy person, according to me. I want Zorba and Buddha to meet together. Zorba alone is hollow. His dance has not an eternal significance, it is momentary pleasure. Soon he will be tired of it.

Unless you have inexhaustible sources, available to you from the cosmos itself…unless you become existential, you cannot become whole. This is my contribution to humanity: the whole person.

Osho Communism and Zen Fire, Zen Wind, Chapter 2

My take away: I am mindlessly shuffling this deck. My mind was evaluating my supplies. How many weeks of food were on hand? How can I stretch things? Suddenly, this card popped out. OK, message received. “…inexhaustible sources, available to you from the cosmos itself….” Thank you!

Largemouth Bass Loop

What started out as a short walk by the lake turned into a two mile hike over uneven terrain. The Largemouth Bass Loop was well marked at the beginning but became iffy as I continued. Red trail markers painted on a tree. Cedar bench along Largemouth Bass Loop.

Nice benches were placed along the trail.

Cards for 2020

I pulled three cards at the beginning of 2020. The draw is a variation of past, present, and future.

Tarot cards: The Lovers, Receptivity, New Vision. They are laying on my home altar.

I wasn’t surprised when The Lovers showed up as the past card. I haven’t had a lover in almost 20 years. I came very close once.

The present card is Receptivity. I try to be mindful and to practice loving awareness (From Ram Dass). Being receptive is part of my practice.

“Listening is one of the basic secrets of entering into the temple of God. Listening means passivity. Listening means forgetting yourself completely–only then can you listen.” ~ Osho

The coming year – New Vision. We will see what that turns out to be as the “nows ” unfold.

“When you open up to the ultimate, immediately it pours into you. You are no longer an ordinary human being–you have transcended. Your insight has become the insight of the whole existence. Now you are no longer separate–you have found your roots.” ~ Osho

These cards are from Osho’s Zen Tarot.

I visited a church on Sunday. The first shift congregation was leaving as we arrived. Fortunately there were people directing traffic and pedestrians so no one became road pizza. We parked on the second level of the parking deck and made our way down and around to the edifice.

On the way I encountered a teenage child of god in a hurry to get to worship. The teenage girl hit me in the face while she was pointing out the way to her friends. She kept going. The next teenager in line apologized as she sped past. It was hectic.

Upon arriving at an entrance, we were greeted by the greeters. Inside we go. The environment, clamor and crowd reminded me of a busy airport terminal.

On we go to check in the child. We encountered some intriguing additional greeters along the way. Paw Patrol

Spider-Man and some storybook princess were also there.

Don’t forget your child reclaim ticket. Abandoned children will be assimilated! j/k

Onward for a stop at the unisex restrooms. Free coffee was available in the hallway. Additionally there was a coffee shop style cafe.

As we entered the lobby of the worship area we were greeted again and presented with information packets.

I shouldn’t have folded this.

I realize these are difficult to read.

Boxes of popcorn and sodas were handed out by lovely young men and women. The popcorn was delicious and sodas were all coke products.

We found some seats near the back. They were similar to this product.Chair
Slowly, the faithful filled the auditorium. On some unknown to me cryptic signal, the large crowd stood. In the darkened room the event began with welcomes both on the three big screens and on stage. New style chant like songs of worship were sung while the three screens played a hypnotic loop similar to this. There was swaying, raised hands, and a live band.

The actual “message” was a series of movie clips from Moneyball interspersed with Christian thoughts supported by the clip. This continues through 4 clips. At the end there was a invitation to pray their version of the sinners prayer .

At this point we leave to reclaim the child and go to lunch.

Safety was a big deal. The place was loaded with policemen.
