Day 2: We moved from Doc’s in Gulf Shores to Magnolia Branch Wildlife Reserve near Atmore AL.

Magnolia Branch is a lovely campground with large, wooded lots. The campground is bordered by lakes, ponds, and a creek. It is my favorite rural campground.

Day 3
Parked in our new spot.
Day 4
The rotating mess on the dinette table.
Day 5
A nice grilled cheese for supper.
Day 6
Not my most environmentally correct choice.
At least I can recycle the bottles here.
Day 7
With Valentine’s Day coming up, we thought some crafty hearts would be fun to make on a rainy day.

I appreciate each of you. Your visits, likes, and comments help me feel connected. Stay safe and well out there in the CCE.

Favorite Finds in December

1. An RV Christmas Tree. It is the first one in several years. Things are different, more magical, with a child on board.

2. This is the first time since the initial lock down the first of 2020 that I have lived close enough to a store that delivers or to any delivery service to have groceries delivered. I can truthfully say that I love having groceries brought to the door. That frees up a lot of time and limits risk. I could get spoiled.

3. I’ve been baking banana bread in my slow cooker. It’s easy and works well. My technique is improving with practice.

4. A vaccine in finally available. YAY. Vaxx Now

The Holidays

Once it was my favorite time of year, now the holidays are difficult for me. From Halloween until the New Year was joyous. Then my world and I changed.
Fifteen or so years ago my ex announced she wanted a divorce. That crushed my heart and my world. I’ve never found another person to share life. For a while I looked. That was a waste of time. I think finding another partner was never in the cards. I have accepted that.
Eleven years ago in late October and early November my parents died two weeks apart. They were the last spark of holiday joy. My mom was the spirit of Christmas in our family.
My children were grown and gone. With my wife and children gone and my parents gone I can’t muster up any holiday cheer though I try.
There is so much grief associated with holidays.

This year I’ve gotten a holiday cheer boost. A child is spending November and December in the rig. He brings his own holiday joy and it’s contagious I need more new good Christmas memories like this.

I read somewhere one should name their holiday grief. Name it and honor it. This year my holiday grief is the memories of good Christmas celebrations in my parent’s home. I’ll light a candle and place it on the not-an-altar.

I feel like I’m rambling so I think I’ll stop.

Thank you for stopping in. Your visits, likes, and comments are greatly appreciated . Stay safe and well out there in the CCE. Wishing you love and joy.

Thankful

I thought I would share a thankful list. I am grateful for so much.

1. I did not die a few years back when my heart decided to slow down and stop. Pacemakers, doctors, nurses, techs, hospitals, family and friends saved my life. I am living in the bonus years thanks to all this. I appreciate this time and I am trying to make the most of it.

LIVE LIKE YOU ARE DYING

2. Living the life I picked. Seven years ago I realized I did not want to die sitting in a recliner watching television. I sold, gave away, or trashed most my belongings, sold my house and moved into an RV. I am grateful for the life I have on the road. Location independence is nice.

My rolling home

3. I’m grateful for faith and confidence. The microwave/convection oven in WHQ is failing. I believe I can replace it.
Faith and confidence in a higher power supply me with faith and confidence in myself. Living alone it’s nice knowing God (pick a label you like) has my back.

4. I am grateful for friends who keep tabs on me and come for visits. Sometimes they travel with me.

5. I am thankful for the quarter I found on the ground. Quarters are important for laundry day.
I am thankful for tonight’s campfire and much other stuff.

Thank you for coming by. Your visits, likes, and comments are a delight. Stay safe and well out there in the CCE. Wishing you love and joy.

1. Corporate pollution really annoys me. Trump’s rollback of many environmental protection rules annoys me. This particular coal ash problem in Alabama is ridiculous. There is no excuse. The same company has corrected the same problem in other states.

2. We visited a metaphysical shop today. Great fun. I got a new tarot deck, some candles, incense, a tree of life box, and some other items.
The reader was excellent. She was right on target. The store was well stocked. The owner was knowledgeable and friendly.

Live and Let Live
It’s Smurfy

3.

I immediately thought of mother when I saw her peeking out of the Devil’s Backbone.

1. The Devil’s Backbone

2. It is nice parking at Magnolia Branch Wildlife Reserve. It is wooded. The sites are not close together. Trees separate the sites. The managers spread people out as much as possible. I need to spend more time in places like this.

3. WOW! I need to replace the over the range microwave/convection oven in WHQ. This should be fairly easy if I plan well and I can lift the unit.

4. I really enjoyed reading Dr. Perry’s blog on assessing the quality of your life.
He talks about expressing joy, emotional health, physical health, growth and expressing love.

It’s a short, informative, and thought provoking read.
