1. The Mad Scramble

I shot the video with an iPhone and the 8 mm app. The editing was done using the Splice app. Nova Rain added the voiceover.

2. All this ice-0-lation, self reflection and meditation is bearing fruit. I flipped out some in the last few days. Melancholy! Confusion! At loose ends. Adrift. Then boom. With the help of a friend I peeled off a huge, tough, nasty layer from my onion. “The unbearable lightness of being”. Growth is difficult. But I am better now. Closer to nobody.

3. I’ve been trying to get my oil and filters changed since January 2020. I’ve been turned away once. SpeedCo didn’t have the oil filter. That is just not true. There was some other reason. Beats me. I may have found a good local place. Maybe during July WHQ will be well lubricated once again.

Thanks 😊 so much for coming by and interacting. You brighten my day and bring joy to my heart. Stay safe and well out there in the CCE. I love you.

100 Days Project

Days 43 – 49

I used the Google Arts and Culture app to morph this photo into Keith Haring’s style.

Day 43

I am weary of Covid’s trash. I am weary of Covid in general. However, I am adapting to my new Covid Common Era life and it’s not so bad.

Day 44

Here I am in Paradise during the CCE and this holly plant thinks it is fall. Or maybe it is in harmony with the newly sick since Alabama has opened up again.

Day 45

The view out my bedroom window.

Day 46

I’m not sure what this plant is doing. Every time I bury its roots it climbs back out.

Day 47
Day 48
The neighbors
Day 49
The big heron wasn’t around. This was his fill-in.

Mark Twain: “I am an old man and have known a great many troubles, but most of them never happened.”

Thanks 😊 so much for stopping by and interacting. You bring joy to my heart. I love you.

Scene 1:
I pulled the 5 of Water, Clinging to the Past, from the Osho Tarot deck. Such a great card for living in the Covid Common Era. The pre-Covid past exits only in our minds. The post-Covid future exists only in our minds. The present flits by into the past. If we stay in our minds, we will miss our lives.

Cling to the Past Tarot Card

Scene 2:
To embrace both the sorrow and joy is difficult in these times of upheaval. As warriors we feel the pain while we continue to shine the light.

QOTD: “Hold the sadness and pain of samsara in your heart and at the same time the power and vision of the Great Eastern Sun. Then the warrior can make a proper cup tea.”
-Chogyam Trungpa

Scene 3:
An RV washing man came by. We struck a deal. He is washing my RV and my jeep for $225. This includes the awnings. I’m happy. 🕺🏽 WHQ is clean.

You bring joy to my heart. Stay safe and well out there in the CCE. I love you.

Curbside Pickup

I’m trying curbside pickup at the local grocery store. I called yesterday to get the scoop on how small town USA curbside pickup works. I’m calling in my order, they will do the best they can, and they will call me back with the total.

The list:

  • Cucumber X
  • Bag o carrots X
  • 4 Roma tomatoes X
  • 4 green bananas X
  • Bag of yellow onions X
  • Celery hearts X
  • Bag o apples X
  • 5lbs potatoes X
  • Big jar dill pickles X
  • Jif Crunchy peanut butter C
  • Canned pineapple X
  • Canned pears X
  • Raisins
  • 3 small cans tuna in water X
  • onion soup mix X
  • Bouillon cubes X
  • Bay leaves X
  • Small bags of flour and cornmeal
  • Cooking oil 32oz
  • TP X (I was surprised it was available)

The items with an “X” are the items that were available. The employees did a great job. It was as safe as possibly. When I got home I wiped down some things with a Lysol wipe, others got a soapy bath, and a few others were put in isolation for a week.

Largemouth Bass Loop

Log

What started out as a short walk by the lake turned into a two mile hike over uneven terrain. The Largemouth Bass Loop was well marked at the beginning but became iffy as I continued. Red trail markers painted on a tree. Cedar bench along Largemouth Bass Loop.

Nice benches were placed along the trail.

Abandoned plastic tackle box.

Abandoned plastic tackle box.

There were several old things along the trail. The bottom half of a large turtle shell.

Remains of a large turtle.
Backbone of some creature nailed to a tree

Not sure what left this behind.

Concrete fixtures in the woods.

or these. There were many things like this scattered about.

Along with the old stuff there was new stuff. Bridge over swampy groundNew deck

I love the support posts. Something to keep in mind.

Bridge

There is a lot of work being done on this trail.

What did I learn?

I need a day pack.
I need to carry more water.
I need to take snacks.
I should have been wearing something other than sandals.

What I did right.

I carried a little water.
I took my big camera.
I went for the hike, the adventure.
I nourished my wonder and curiosity.

2019 in Review

I don’t usually do this but there is some new feeling that “Time is running out” so this gets a whirl.

There were a few disappointments but overall 2019 was a great year for me.

There were no major problems with WHQ or my Jeep. I even managed to fix some big things myself and that made them minor.

My relationship with WHQ is more comfy. I’ve slowly been making it more and more my own.

With help from my family I put a new top on Jeepy. It was long overdue.

I spent a lot of quality time with my family and really enjoyed most of it.

I did not get sick or die and no people I love died. Those are always a win.

I took back control over two parts of my life that I had neglected and let drift into less than territory.

I revaluated my relationships and rearranged boundaries.

My tribe became more clearly defined.

I became more fit and as a result I lost weight and kept it off.

I physically and spiritually traveled to new places and enjoyed new experiences. Mindfulness was very important for me in 2019.

That’s a short list. Nothing really earth shattering and I’m sure I’ve left out things.
