#The100DayChallenge Week 11

The ostrich seems to hang out in this area of the park. This is the bird that tried to take my phone. We have a different relationship now.
He was talking up a storm.
This llama is checking me out. “You have a food bucket in there?”
Spring is wonderful at Alabama Safari Park. There are many babies.

1. I swear she tried to kiss me.

Lining up for snacks.
Such a pointy peak.
I see you hiding in there. “Got any snacks?” said the pesky llama.
One lump or two?

I wrote this back in February and it has languished in the queue long enough.

Scene 1:

Sunrise

I sit here drinking yummy coffee, Dancing Goat blend, watching the sunrise on this cold January morning. It’s 27F outside. This is the last day of a whirlwind weekend in Atlanta GA.

Scene 2:

The Georgia Aquarium

Scene 3:

The Atlanta Zoo

It was cold and windy. Most the animals were not out.

I enjoyed the warmth of the Scaly Slimy Spectacular: The Amphibian and Reptile Experience.

Bubbles

“Knot by knot I untie myself from the past and let it rise away from me like a balloon.

What a small thing it becomes.

What a bright tweak at the vanishing point, blue on blue.”

~ Charles Wright

Scene 2:

I uploaded a short and fun time lapse video today. It’s me cutting up a honeydew melon. You’ll have to click here to view. I really appreciate you taking a peek. Leave some feedback if you feel so inclined.

1:  an exhibition of optical effects and illusions
2: a :  a constantly shifting complex succession of things seen or imagined
b :  a scene that constantly changes
3:  a bizarre or fantastic combination, collection, or assemblage

Sometimes, watching my Now,  life feels like optical effects and illusions, a bizarre and fantastic assemblage.  Science tells me it is an illusion. What is perceived is not the energy rushing about nor is it the mostly empty space between particles.  The very act of looking solidifies the constantly changing scene much like a photograph.

Christy, Jesse, and I went to the Audubon Zoo while we were in New Orleans.  It is a stop we make on almost every trip.  I posted some animal pictures in the the previous blog and I thought I would share pictures of my co-conspirators.

Watching Jesse play

What do you mean we have to go back to the house?  I’m not done!

Flamingos are graceful and beautiful.  I enjoy watching them.

I think this is a Sun Bear.  He looked deceptively friendly as he posed for everyone.  Check out those claws. WOW!

I like tortoises.  They look look old and wise.  Several have lived with me for short periods of time.

Quack! Quack!

This looks like a lemur to me.  They were enjoying a little snack.
